Google Slashes its Google Drive Prices by 80%

Google Slashes its Google Drive Prices by 80%

Google on its official Blog declared that they are making a huge cut to the prices of its Cloud service Google Drive. Google Drive has been around for two years and is by default provided to Google Mail Users. It initially provides 15 GB for free for their free Users and you will have to pay to get more space.

Google announced that it is significantly lowering its prices yesterday. Its 100 GB plan, which was previously $4.99 per month, is now $1.99. Most interesting, however, is the massive price cut Google made for its 1 terabyte plan. Originally at $49.99, 1 TB of storage now costs $9.99 per month.

With this offer Google is ready to compete with popular Online Cloud Storage services like Box and Dropbox whose rates are very higher compared to this. The Online Storage War is on, Choose your side.

Facebook Messenger for Windows Phone available Now

Facebook Messenger for Windows Phone available Now

Official Facebook Messenger App for Windows Phone is now available on the Windows App Store. There may be many apps in the Windows market that mimick the Facebook Messenger, but this is the official app by Facebook.

Facebook Messenger allows you to connect easily with your Facebook friends. You can send messages, share multimedia files, location and more. Similar to the Android and iOS versions, Facebook Messenger for Windows Phone comes with Facebook stickers. Location sharing is also enabled, and you can view or manage contacts on the service too. But it misses voice messaging and Chat Heads options. These features should be coming in the near future.

It needs Windows 8 to run. It comes with the traditional Windows Phone style user interface.

Facebook has now killed off the Facebook Messenger app for Windows desktop and Firefox browser. Rumors about Facebook Messenger for Mac OS X may not be true considering Facebook is dropping support for desktop messaging.

India gets Indoor Maps by Google

India gets Indoor Maps by Google

As a part of its indoor maps feature, Google provides maps for indoor spaces such as airports, shopping malls, large retail stores, and transit stations. These maps can be accessed on desktop, Android and even iOS version of Google Maps. Users only need to zoom-in at a location in Google Maps to see the indoor maps for that place, given it is available. Once in indoor maps view mode, the users will also be able to change the floor to look at the specific floor-maps.

The Lenovo store also includes a Smart Cover worth Rs 2,039 with the in-box contents of the Vibe Z. The Vibe Z is a relatively cheaper Snapdragon 800-powered smartphone in the market and its closest competition is the Google Nexus 5. The phone is a sleek one featuring a thickness of a mere 7.9mm as well as a weight of 147 grams. Vibe Z features a 5.5-inch, 1920 x 1080 Full HD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that features a pixel density of 400ppi and comes protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

1TB+ of Cloud Space for Free, Meet Yunio!

1TB+ of Cloud Space for Free, Meet Yunio!

With our ever increasing data, most of us search for a free alternative to backup our files online. But most of the Cloud Services available today only offer some GB of free space. Dropbox offers 2GB, SkyDrive/OneDrive starts with a free 7GB, Google Drive delivers 15GB, and so on. You will have to pay a good amount regularly to get a permanent Cloud space with enough storage on it.

But forget about all that. Here we introduce you to Yunio that gives a TB of Cloud Space for free. We recently introduced you to Mail.Ru that was also giving 1TB Space as a promotional offer. But that site was in Russian and also the available offer has expired by now.

Yunio has advanced file sharing capabilities and a super easy method of growing your storage capacity at no additional cost. It offers 1TB for Free to its users. And if that wasn't enough for you, Yunio adds 1GB to your account for each day you use it. Yes, they actually do that and its all FREE.

The Interface is pretty simple and much like its competitions. Yunio lets you share your entire folders of data or just single files. But sharing folders requires the recipient to sign up for their own Yunio account. Any backed-up file or folder may be shared with others by creating a public link. This can be restricted by a password or question, and there are options to set an expiration date and a maximum number of downloads.

The Free account does have some limitations of its own. Single files may be a maximum of 5 GB in size. Maximum of 10 folders per device can be synced, and shared up to 5. Shared folders may be accessed by up to 20 people.

Another drawback is that there aren’t network settings in the desktop app to control the upload speed Yunio is allowed to use. Without network caps, Yunio may slow down your network while uploading files.

Overall, This is the best cloud service I have used that provides such huge amount of Cloud Space for free and the extra space per day is just a treat.
